Stephen,
I've noticed this on certain cars, not in particular to DMCH's shift
boots, but on cars where it appears the clearance between the
shifter and the metal ring is different by a few tenths of an inch.
Some cars rub and wear holes in ANY shift boot, and some where the
clearances are larger, never wear the boots out.
This is just a little oddity I've noticed after trying out over 25
cars by noticing the slight differences in clearance from the edges
in reverse & 5th. Some are fine, some cut it close. When it is a
clearance issue, the manufacturer of the shift boot doesn't matter,
either it'll rub or it won't.
Hope this helped dispell any faulty shift boot rumors.
